Tours Puerto Maldonado
The department of Madre de Dios (meaning Mother of God) is located in the Southeastern zone of the country. Its' northern border is with Ucayali, to the south and west with Puno and the east with Brazil and Bolivia. Its territory includes zones of high and low forest, with a warm and humid tropical climate and rains from November to April. Its average temperature is of 25°C; its population is approximately 50 thousand inhabitants. Its capital is Puerto Maldonado, in the province of Tambopata. From Hispanic times Madre de Dios has been considered a mythical earth and has been identified as El Paititi.
In Incan times it was part of the Antisuyo region; it was very difficult to rule but highly valuable due to its natural resources.
In 1902 the city of Puerto Maldonado was founded and in 1912 the department of Madre de Dios was created, the name given by Dominican priests who claimed they saw the image of the virgin in the borders of the river.
Arequipa
The department of Arequipa located in the southeast of Peru is rich in both culture and geography. Its' capital city also named Arequipa, has an altitude of 2 345m. The city was founded in 1540, the chronicles of Cieza de Leon states that Arequipa was the most "healthy and enjoyable village of Peru". Arequipa's territory includes coastal zones and mountain ranges and it has climates that vary accordingly. The City of Arequipa, also known as the "White City " due to the color of its buildings constructed with sillar (white stone of volcanic origin), is a colorful place that combines the beauty of its green countryside with the imposing presence of volcanoes and snowcapped mountains. The city is surrounded by three volcanoes, El Misti (5 822 m) El Chachani (6 075 m.) and El Pichu Pichu (5 664 m). After Lima, Arequipa is considered the most important city in Peru.

Location:
The department of Puno is located in the Southeast of the country in the Plateau of the Collao, it borders Lake Titicaca with an area of 72 012.27 km2., its capital city bears the same name. Puno's altitude is 3,827m, the rainy season is from December to April and temperatures vary between 19º C max. and 2º C min, the average being 10º C.
