Reserved Zone 8 Days / 7 Nights
Day 1:
Departing from the city of Cusco very early in the morning in one of our vehicles especially equipped for the route. We will cross interesting Andean valleys and colorful farming communities, visit the Pre-Inca tombs "Chullpas" of Ninamarca. At noon we arrive at Paucartambo, a typical colonial town of great importance in its time, it still retains its colonial style. Continuing the trip we ascend until to Acjanacu at 3,850m, then begin our descent passing through the Forest of Clouds, an area very rich in native flora and fauna like the Spectacled Bear, Cock of the Rocks, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, and many others. Our first night is spent camping in Orquídeas Camp Site of San Pedro.
Day 2:
In the early morning we will be able to appreciate the interesting courtship dance of the Cock of the Rocks from our viewing platform "Lek". The Cock of the Rocks is the National bird of Peru; it has a showy plumage of very intense red/orange color. After having breakfast we continue by bus crossing the high forest, arriving at Pilcopata* then continue towards the Puerto de Atalaya (700 m), located on the border of the upper Madre de Dios river. Our boat awaits us here with the necessary equipment for the trip; from here we start downstream to observe the enormous diversity of birds, like herons, vultures, cormorants, etc. Afterwards we arrive at out Private Reserve where we spend the next two nights. We will take a long nature walk throughout the area before retiring for the evening.
Day 03:
After breakfast, we sail by boat on the upper Madre de Dios River for approximately 4 hours to the aerodrome of Boca Manu (mouth of the river). This route by boat gives us the opportunity to see birds like: water birds, herons and various species of fishing birds, sparrows, etc.
In Villa de Boca Manu it is possible to buy any last minute provisions and cold drinks. We spend the night in the Boca Lodge with one short nocturnal walk a possibility.
Day 04:
We leave early in the morning, traveling about one hour before arriving at an area where a clay wall offers a valuable resource to hundreds of birds including the blue headed parrot, small white-eyed parrot and the Macaw congregate every morning to ingest pieces of clay that contain the necessary minerals to balance their diet. After a brief stop at passport control post of Limonal we present the necessary documents for entry into the Reserved Zone, we will undertake a trip upstream on the Manu River for 4 hours, leaving all signs of civilization behind, and journey to the heart of the Reserved Zone until we reach Cocha Salvador. During this trip an endless number of species of birds can be seen, as well as caymans, river turtles and some mammals frequently sunning themselves on river banks or feeding themselves in the trees. This route shows the immensity of the forest to us. We base ourselves here at Cocha Salvador for the next two nights of our camping safari, double rooms including mosquito nets, dining room, toilets and showers, radio communication and power. After lunch we use our time to walk in search of wild life in this pristine forest and learn about the environment we are visiting.
Day 05:
The howler monkeys will probably wake us up as they declare their territory to all around. Before breakfast we will have a morning walk as the temperature at this time means that many animals are out in search of food. We will explore Cocha Salvador using a catamaran which helps us to appreciate some species of fauna such as the Giant Otter (Pteronura brasiliensis) a species close to extinction, an important inhabitant who can be seen fishing, playing or swimming, as can the Black Cayman (Melanosuchus Niger), the Hoatzin (Ophisthocomus hoatzin), the Monkey Spider (Ateles paniscus), etc. Returning to our camp, our friendly personnel will offer us a refreshing breakfast. Later we cross a primary forest with great diversity of species in the direction of Cocha Otorongo, a lagoon with an observation tower 15m high, strategically located from which we will have the opportunity to appreciate the landscape of the surrounding primary forest and greater possibilities of seeing the resident family of giant otters, in addition to observe birds that inhabit the canopies. On return to Cocha Salvador we have the possibility of using the catamaran of and with torches are able to observe the Black Cayman that leaves in search of its prey. We spend the night in our Sajino Safari camp.
Day 06:
Another early morning to make the long walk around Cocha Salvador to take our boat drifting slowly downstream towards the mouth of the Manu River. From this point, the river takes the name of Madre de Dios, becoming the hydrographic axis of the Department of Madre de Dios, when afternoon falls we will arrive at the Private Reserve of Juan de Dios where we will walk through its interesting system of trails, and spend one more night surrounded by the magic of the amazonian forest. There is the possibility of making one nocturnal walk in search of the American Toad, tree frogs, and a great variety of colorful insects. We stay in the Boca Lodge.
Day 07:
Mid-morning our boat takes us to the airport of Boca Manu where there is the option to take a flight to the city of Cusco, alternatively we sail the upper Madre de Dios river observing the enormous diversity of birdlife. We spend the night in our shelter or camping on an appropriate beach, this completes our experience in the wonderful Amazonian forest.
Day 08:
Rising very early we continue sailing the river towards the Puerto de Atalaya at which we will arrive at dusk, before taking the bus for the return journey to the city of Cusco, arriving very late at night or very early in the morning. THIS CONCLUDES OUR SERVICE.

Flight from Boca Manu to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
