Program 2 Days/1 Night

Day 1: Cusco - Puerto Maldonado - Jungle Lodge Inn - Lago Sandoval

puerto-maldonado-sandoval-lodge-jungle-3When arriving at the city of Puerto Maldonado, our guide meets us in Father Aldamiz Airport, and leads us downtown where we can visit the exotic local market, depending on our arrival time. Excess luggage can also be stored before we depart for our jungle tour.
From Puerto Capitanía we take an air-conditioned boat to navigate the Río Bajo Madre de Dios for approximately 1 hour before arriving at our accommodation for a welcome drink, typical to the Amazonian jungle. Our guide will conduct an information session on the accommodation, services, and allocate you a bungalow with time to settle in and relax over lunch, enjoying the Amazonian landscape and the Madre de Dios River.
In the evening we cross a river in our boat to the entrance of Lago Sandoval that is within the Tambopatapuerto-maldonado-selva-amazonia1 National Reserve, where we walk for 90 minutes approximately to arrive at one of the most beautiful places in the Amazonian forest, Lago Sandoval, which displays a singular and harmonious landscape, complemented by the flora and fauna, caymans and animals in danger of extinction like the giant Otter, which can be observed with a little luck. During this visit we will use a small canoe to explore the lake and observe birds, some types of fish, turtles, etc.
We will be able to climb an observation tower of more than 25 meters high to observe the lake and its Amazonian surrounds. We return to our accommodation and have a delicious traditional meal. Nature walks or night time activities are possible every night, which can be organized by our guides.
