North of Cusco, is an immense canyon called (Pongo de Mainique). This is the breakdown of Cordillera Vilcabamba where crosses the Urubamba river. This famous river originates in the glaciers near its waters irrigate Cusco and the Sacred Valley of Incas. The put has an area of 3.8 km and is the gateway to the sanctuary which is part Megantoni.
